"President Andrzej Duda has informed me that his visit to the US is possible soon, so I will keep my fingers crossed," he said on Saturday.
Tusk added that Duda also told him that Poland's common position would be established in any potential contacts between him and Trump.
In his opinion, Duda has "invested a lot" in his relationship with Trump, so it could be used "for American-Polish talks, especially in the context of Ukraine".
Earlier on Saturday, the Onet news portal reported about preparations for Duda's visit to the US, where he is due to meet with Trump. According to the portal, two presidential ministers, Marcin Mastalerek and Wojciech Kolarski, are already in the US to finalise the details of the visit.
"There are two options... Duda may fly for a short visit in the coming hours, and return for Monday's Independence Day celebrations... however, if Mastalerek and Kolarski do not arrange a meeting with Trump in the coming hours, the president will not fly to the US until next week," Onet wrote.
