Government party wins EP elections in Poland - official results

Civic Coalition (KO), the backbone party in Poland's coalition government, won the Sunday elections to the European Parliament having received 37.06 percent of the votes, the National Electoral Commission (PKW) announced on Monday, having counted 100 percent of the votes.

Its main opponent, the Law and Justice (P[iS), received 36.16 percent of the total.

The far-right Confederation party received 12.08 percent of the vote, while the two government partners - the centre-right Third Way garnered 6.91 percent and the Left won 6.3 percent.

In terms of EP seats, the Civic Coalition got 21, the Law and Justice 20, the Confederation 6, the Third Way 3 and the Left 3.

All other parties failed to cross the electoral threshold of 5 percent. (PAP)
