Microsoft might invest even more in Poland in 2026

Microsoft Vice President and Director Brad Smith has said that the tech giant might invest PLN 2.8 bln (EUR 673.5 mln) in Poland in 2026, adding to the EUR hundreds-of-millions already invested.

"However, everything depends on how quickly the computing power currently being built will be used. There is no point in creating more of it if it will not be used," Smith said in an interview with Polish daily Rzeczpospolita on Monday.

Smith also confirmed that Microsoft will pour EUR 700 million into Poland's cybersecurity and boost the army with AI systems. "This is the money that we plan to invest merely by July 2026," he told the daily.

He added that the tech field is very capital-intensive, which requires precise knowledge of what and how much you want to invest. "You have to operate in shorter investment time frames."

On Monday, Smith met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, which added to the politician's talks with Google CEO Sundar Pichai in Warsaw. The meeting followed Google's announcement to allocate billions to Poland's digital future after the company signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Polish Development Funds, a state-owned financial group that helps companies enter the foreign market.
