Poland's Tyszkowski wins silver in shot put in Rio

Poland's Bartosz Tyszkowski has won silver in men's shot put F41 at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

This is the second medal won by Poland's team at the 2016 Paralympics which started in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday. Tyszkowski took the silver throwing 13.56 metres.

Germany's Nikko Kappel clinched the gold with a throw of 13.57 metres and China's Zhiwei Xia won the bronze with a throw of 12.33 metres.

Earlier on Thursday, Robert Jachimowicz has won silver in men's discus throw F52 (19.10 metres).

Latvia's Aigars Apinis clinched the gold with a throw of 20.83 metres and Croatia's Velimir Sandor won the bronze with a throw of 18.24 metres. (PAP)
