Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski on Friday handed Jaroslaw Starzyk his presidential appointment to the post of Poland's Permanent Representative at the European Union, the Foreign Ministry reported.

Starzyk, a career diplomat, in the years 2008-2015 was Poland's ambassador to Switzerland. In 1999-2004 he worked at Poland's Representation at the EU.

Starzyk will replace Marek Prawda in early March. Prawda has been Poland's Permanent Representative at the European Union since 2012.  (PAP)
