The monument in Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw is a black granite slab placed at a pedestal with names of six Polish victims of World Trade Center attack engraved on it. It was unveiled on the first anniversary of the attack, on September 11, 2002.

Fifteen years ago the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners flying on US domestic routes. Two of the planes were crashed into North and South towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City. Third plane was crashed into Pentagon and the fourth, initially steered toward Washington D.C., crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, after its passengers tried to overcome the hijackers. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks, including six Poles. (PAP)
