Poland to see maximum GDP drop of 4.7 percent in 2020 - develop min

Poland's GDP is expected to decline by no more than 4.3-4.7 percent this year and the economy should rebound by 4-4.1 pct next year, deputy PM and Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz told PAP.

"We assume that the moderately optimistic scenario for Poland for this year will materialise and our economy will be least impacted by the pandemic," Emilewicz said with a caveat that developments at end-year are hard to predict at the moment.

In her opinion, the economic situation is improving. "The level of consumption in Poland  - when we looked at it last week - is comparable to that of January this year," Emilewicz said. She also pointed out the "relatively good" level of optimism of investors and managers in Europe. (PAP)
