Poland was the biggest beneficiary of funds from the European Union in 2023, according to a report published by the German Economic Institute on Tuesday.

Last year, Poland was the biggest beneficiary of EU funds, receiving EUR 8.2 billion (PLN 35 bln), with Romania and Hungary taking second and third place.

In 2022, Poland received EUR 11.9 billion (PLN 51 bln) from the EU budget.

Germany was the largest contributor to the EU budget, as it paid out EUR 17.4 billion more than it received back, almost double that of the French, who were in second place. (PAP)
