According to the ministry, Poland, on Tuesday, received PLN 40 billion as part of the second and third payment applications for the KPO. To date, Poland has received PLN 67 bln (EUR 16 bln) to support the growth of its economy in the coming years.
"In line with the announcements made by Funds and Regional Policy Minister Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz, the funds from both applications, that is, roughly 9.4 billion euros (a little over PLN 40 bln - PAP) were allocated to our country prior to Christmas," said the ministry in a statement.
It added that the funds would be directed towards enhancing the energy efficiency of residential buildings, ensuring safe, reliable, and balanced transportation, developing cyber infrastructure for education, exploring new energy sources to strengthen Poland's energy security, and modernising the country's energy network.
The ministry also announced that Poland planned to apply for further payments from the recovery fund by the end of the year. (PAP)
