The deal provides for the supply of 18,000 tons of TNT to the United States over the years 2027-2029.

The document was signed on Wednesday by Arkadiusz Miszuk, Nitro-Chem's Acting President and John Coney, CEO of the US defence logistics company Paramount Enterprises International (PEI),in the presence of Poland's Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk.

"This meeting is exceptional because we are the ones who share our capabilities and sell our products to the United States, to Paramount," Tomczyk said at the event.

He added that Poland is the largest producer of TNT in NATO and the main supplier of TNT to the United States "at a level of 90 percent."

Tomczyk said Warsaw has an "iron contract" for the supply of TNT to the United States Army and the deal concluded on Wednesday is one of many.

He added that in the coming years the defence ministry plans to invest around PLN 1 billion in the Bydgoszcz plant, and the investments being implemented there now amount to PLN 120 million.

Miszuk said that PEI is a permanent partner of Nitro-Chem, and the deal just signed will allow for developing further projects.

Nitro-Chem is one of the world's largest producers of explosives and belongs to the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), a holding company established by the Polish government to unite Polish state-owned defence industry companies. (PAP)
