Polish PM not satisfied with Russia's response to ceasefire plan
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said that Russia's response to the US proposal of a 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine was not satisfactory.

The Ukrainian delegation agreed after talks with their American counterparts in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to the US proposal of a 30-day immediate ceasefire on the Russia-Ukraine front.
But Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview on Wednesday that "Russia will avoid compromises that would jeopardise people's lives." He also reiterated Russia's stance that it would not under any circumstances accept the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine if a durable peace agreement was reached.
"Russia's response is, to put it mildly, unsatisfactory, not to say mysterious and puzzling", Tusk said on Thursday at a press conference after his return from Turkey, where he had held talks with the country's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Tusk said that "today, no one knows whether Russia is accepting the preliminary proposal of a 30-day ceasefire or whether it will multiply conditions that are... unacceptable to the other partners."
He also expressed hope that Polish-Turkish cooperation would facilitate a stable peace in Ukraine. (PAP)
