Adam Szlapka told a Tuesday press conference that this motto or "watchword" means "taking responsibility for Europe's common security", and something to be "what Europe will talk about and focus on."
He said that "security" is a broad concept, but "we want to focus on seven aspects of security: external, internal, information, economic, energy, food and health, which will be the priorities of our presidency."
As regards external security, the Polish presidency will focus on strengthening Europe's defence industry and tightening relations with the United States, Szlapka continued.
As far as internal security is concerned, it will involve preventing illegal migration and combating acts of sabotage, he added.
Szlapka also said that Polish priorities will be further developed within the 10 sectoral councils operating within the EU Council and chaired by Polish ministers during the Polish presidency.
These priorities will soon be presented by individual ministers in the respective areas of their responsibility, he added.
Szlapka also presented the logo of the Polish Presidency and said that the Poland25.eu website had been launched, which will feature news about the Polish Presidency. (PAP)
