Two Polish private broadcasters to be placed under gov't protection
Poland will add the private broadcasters TVN and Polsat to its list of strategic companies, thereby protecting them from possible takeovers by foreign hostile entities, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced.

Tusk shared the news at a briefing held on Wednesday.
"I have decided to add the broadcasters TVN and Polsat to the list of protected... strategic companies," he said. He added the relevant resolution would be ready next week.
The measure empowers state authorities to block acquisitions that may jeopardise national interests.
According to Tusk, the move comes in light of Russian interference observed in the Romanian presidential elections. (PAP)
