Poland to spend most on defence among NATO allies in 2024
Poland will likely spend 4.12 percent of its GDP on defence this year, the most in the whole alliance, a NATO estimate has shown.

Poland is expected to be followed by Estonia, with 3.43 percent of GDP to be spent on defence and the US with 3.38 percent.
Belgium, Luxembourg, Slovenia and Spain, which occupy the opposite end of the ranking, will each spend just 1.3 percent of their GDP on defence.
Latvia and Greece are expected to exceed the 3 percent threshold this year, while 18 other NATO allies will spend at least 2 percent of their GDP on defence, in line with the bloc's recommendation.
Poland will channel 51.1 percent of its defence expenditure this year to equipment, 29.5 percent to military personnel, 14.8 percent to operations and maintenance and 4.5 percent to infrastructure. (PAP)
