Poland spends record amounts on cybersecurity, says minister
In 2025, Poland will invest historical amounts in protecting the country against cyber threats, Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski has said.

On Thursday, Gawkowski attended the SECURE International Summit in the central Polish city of Bydgoszcz. The event is the biggest cybersecurity conference organised by his ministry as part of Poland's rotating six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union.
"In 2025, we are spending the biggest amount in Poland's history on cybersecurity," he said, adding that Poland was investing both in military and non-military systems that would protect against cyberattacks.
Gawkowski also announced that the government would soon present the country's new cybersecurity strategy.
"Poland as a country is one of the most frequent targets of cyberattacks in the world," he said. "Of those, 99.99 percent fail, because they are blocked."
Gawkowski called for raising general awareness regarding cybersecurity of "every piece of (electronic - PAP) equipment". "There are no small or large towns across Europe that would be free of cyber risks," he said, adding that with regard to cyberattacks, national boundaries did not exist. (PAP)
