Poland’s Piotr Malachowski won a silver medal in the men’s discus throw event at the Rio Olympics on Saturday.

With a throw of 67.55 metres, the Pole finished second behind Germany's Christoph Harting, who outperformed him with his last effort of 68.37 m. Germany's Daniel Jasinski took the bronze, with 67.05 m.
