Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, during the agreement's signing on the grounds of the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade on Wednesday, described the vehicles as "the eyes and ears of the Polish Army."
"Wherever we (the government - PAP) can, we invest in Poland's arms industry," he said. "The government is fulfilling its obligations."
The defence ministry added on Wednesday that this was the start of the realisation of the framework agreement for the delivery of 286 Kleszcz vehicles between 2026-2035.
The armoured vehicle is a result of co-operation between several Polish military agencies.
The total sum of the agreement is worth PLN 800 million (EUR 186 million).
The ministry added that the vehicles would serve reconnaissance units embedded with ground forces and would replace obsolete post-Soviet equipment. (PAP)
