Public support for Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki's cabinet reached 42 percent in January. The percentage of negative opinions amounted to 14 percent, while the proportion of indifferent views stood at 33 percent, the CBOS pollster reported on Friday.

Eleven percent said they did not have an opinion about the Morawiecki government.

Sixty-one percent said the changes in the composition of the government made by PM Morawiecki were positive, 52 percent termed them as rather good, and 9 percent as decisively good. Two percent said the changes were bad, 7 percent as rather bad, and 30 percent were undecided.

On Jan. 9, President Andrzej Duda appointed nine cabinet ministers. Jacek Czaputowicz was appointed as the new minister of foreign affairs, Mariusz Blaszczak - minister of defence, Joachim Brudzinski - minister of internal affairs, Teresa Czerwinska - minister of finance, Lukasz Szumowski - minister of health, while Henryk Kowalczyk was named the minister of the environment.

Other appointments included Jerzy Kwiecinski as new minister of investment and development, Jadwiga Emilewicz as new minister of entrepreneurship and technology, as well as Andrzej Adamczyk as minister of infrastructure.

Morawiecki replaced Beata Szydlo as Poland's prime minister in early December.
