Poland managed to hold to a goalless draw in their second match of Group C in the Euro 2016 football tournament at the Stade de France in Paris on Thursday. Both teams edged closer to the knockout stage.

The two teams played the first stalemate at Euro 2016. The stubborn Polish team managed to hold 2014 World Champions in a dogged fight.

"We were controlling things well, even at the end. There were times when Germany took the initiative but we gave them that consciously, to allow us space to hit them on the counter attack," said Polish coach Adam Nawalka.

Poland and Germany now have four points each and are followed by Northern Ireland with three and Ukraine with none. (PAP)
