Poland places fourth in women's handball championship

Having lost to Romania 22-31 (8-15) in a Sunday match for bronze in the Women's Handball World Championship in Naestved, Denmark, Poland placed fourth in the tournament. Two years ago in Serbia, Poland also placed fourth.

On Friday Poland lost in a semi-final to the Netherlands 25-30 (8-15).

During earlier matches in the tournament Poland beat Russia (21-20), Cuba (27-22), China (29-24), Angola (29-27) and Hungary (24-23), and lost to Sweden (30-31) and the Netherlands (20-31). (PAP)
