President Andrzej Duda in an online letter extended Easter wishes on Sunday to the clergy and faithful of all Eastern churches. Let the Easter triumph of life over death motivate us to cooperate for justice and peace, the president wrote.

"Please accept my most heartfelt wishes for a blessed, joyous and peaceful Resurrection Feast. Let this special time, in which we celebrate Christian faith and hope, fill your hearts with happiness. Let it restore your spiritual and physical strength and reinforce the bonds that bring you together into communities of faith, communities of family, and the family of all families that is our nation, (...) Let the Easter triumph of life over death, of selfless love over discord and division, motivate us to cooperate for justice and peace in Poland, Europe and the world," Duda wrote in his letter.

The Eastern churches celebrate Easter this year on April 28, one week after the Roman Catholics. (PAP)
