The procession started with the Angelus prayer said at noon by Warsaw metropolitan Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz and ended with joint carol singing.
The procession of thousands of people, including children dressed in colours representing Europe, Africa and Asia, was organised in Warsaw for the eighth time.
In Krakow, the Epiphany celebrations promoted this year's World Youth Day to be held in the city in July. Today's joyful procession is a prelude to what awaits us in July, Krakow Metropolitan Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz said.
Scenes from biblical events connected with the Nativity were also staged during the festivities.
Besides 420 Polish cities and towns, similar processions were held at many locations around the world, including Germany, Britain, Italy, the United States, Ukraine, Romania, Rwanda and Ecuador. (PAP)
