Thirty Polish tourists sustained injuries in a coach accident in Turkey on Tuesday, with seven still in hospital, including three in a serious condition, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ewa Suwara told PAP on Wednesday.

The accident took place at 5:30 pm local time near the coastal town of Kemer in south-east Turkey, local media reported. The driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle, which rolled down a 20 metre slope.

"Seven people are still in hospital. Of those seven, three are in a serious condition," Suwara said, adding that no person was in a life-threatening condition.

In an earlier statement to PAP, Suwara said one person was in a life-threatening condition, but in a later update she said that "this person has been successfully operated on," adding that "it was a very serious operation."

A total of 38 Polish tourists were on the bus plus a Polish holiday company representative, Suwara also said. (PAP)
