Adam Bodnar, the Polish justice minister, has presented the objectives of reforms aimed at improving the effectiveness of the judiciary.

Bodnar presented a ten-point plan aimed at enhancing court efficiency during a press conference held on Thursday.

The justice ministry, among other priorities, seeks to digitalise court records and enhance electronic filing.

The reforms will address staffing issues by creating 1,159 new judicial assistant vacancies, elevating mediation standards and certifying court-appointed experts.

The project would also establish training programmes focused on management skills for court presidents.

The ministry has also committed to expediting protracted legal cases involving Swiss franc mortgage holders and will permit grievances regarding undue delays in specific cases. (PAP)
