Poland wins six medals at IAAF World Championships

Poland won six medals, including one gold, at the 2019 IAAF World Championships, which ended in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday. Poland placed 11th in the overall ranking.

On Sunday, Poland's women's 4x400 m relay team won the silver medal while Marcin Lewandowski won the bronze in the men's 1500 m and set a national record.

Pawel Fajdek won the gold in men's hammer throw with a result of 80.50 metres. This was his fourth straight hammer throw gold at the world championships. Wojciech Nowicki won the bronze in the same competition. 

Joanna Fiodorow won a silver medal in the women's hammer throw and Piotr Lisek took home the bronze in the men's pole vault. (PAP)
