Piontkowski made the announcement after a sitting of the Government crisis management team during a press conference with Ministers of Health Lukasz Szumowski and Science and Higher Education Wojciech Murdzek.

"Unfortunately, the current epidemic conditions do not make it possible for us to recall the closure of schools, kindergartens and creches. That is why we have decided to further limit their operations," Piontkowski said.

The education minister also said that primary and high school students "will continue their remote learning" during the coronavirus shutdown. (PAP)
