"We're with you, Beata and we are sure that after a short stay in hospital you will be with us again, you will head the government," Law and Justice leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski said commenting a Friday government motorcade collision in which the PM was hurt.

"Today I must start from the sad news that there has been a car accident in which the prime minister and Government Protection Bureau officers were seriously hurt", Jaroslaw Kaczynski told a crowd that traditionally gathered in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw to commemorate the 82nd mensiversary of the tragic crash of the Polish presidential plane near Smolensk, Russia on April 10, 2010.

A government motorcade which among others carried Polish PM Beata Szydlo suffered a collision in the south Polish city of Oswiecim late on Friday. PM Szydlo is undergoing a medical checkup at a local hospital.

The government spokesperson tweeted later that the prime minister's condition was good and she was to undergo further medical tests in Warsaw. (PAP)
