Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has offered condolences to the American people over Wednesday night's tragic incident over Washington D.C. in which a passenger jet collided with a military helicopter and crashed into the Potomac River.

An American Airlines regional passenger plane with 64 people on board and a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided when the airplane was trying to land at the Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday night, with both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River.

No survivors have been found yet. According to the CBS News television, 18 bodies have been recovered so far, though this has not been confirmed by authorities.

"My deepest condolences on the loss of so many lives in the Washington plane crash," Tusk wrote on the X platform on Thursday morning. "Today we are all with the American people in this tragic moment." (PAP)
