Radoslaw Sikorski attended the Moldova Partnership Platform ministerial meeting with his German and French counterparts Annalena Baerbock and Stephane Sejourne, among other participants.
On the sidelines of the conference, he held talks with Baerbock, as well as with Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp. "These were intensive talks between close allies," Sikorski said.
According to the minister, with presidential elections and a referendum on Moldova's EU accession looming, the country is dealing with "a hurricane attack of Russian trolls, corruption and hybrid warfare.
"Moldova, as an undersized country, is being intimidated," he said. "So, it is essential today to show that Europe is with it and will not leave it in its time of need and that it is better to be in the family and institutions of a free democratic Europe than under the Russian boot.
"Today we have shown with our physical presence that Moldova is important - for Poland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and for Europe."
Sikorski claimed that "everyone spreading anti-EU propaganda in Poland" should visit Chisinau "to see how much Russia cares about Moldova not joining the EU.
"I hope it will give them food for thought about how much they have been manipulated," he added. (PAP)
