Community is created through mutual recognition, and this is the main concept behind the Noble Gift charity campaign, which is the work of people for people, President Andrzej Duda said on Wednesday launching this year's Noble Gift Christmas aid campaign for needy families.

Together with First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, Duda donated the presidential couple's traditional Noble Gift Christmas parcel for a selected family to representatives of the Spring Association, which organises the campaign.

"Community is created through mutual recognition, and this is the main concept behind the Noble Gift campaign. This is the work of people for people," the president said.

The Noble Gift project was launched in 2001. Through it, donors can send Christmas parcels to the families they have selected, during the three weeks leading up to Christmas. Information about people and families in a difficult situation is available at www.szlachetnapaczka.pl.

Spring Association volunteers will distribute the Noble Gift parcels to needy families during the "Weekend of Miracles" on December 8 and 9. (PAP)
