KGHM spokesperson Anna Osadczuk told Poland's TVP Info news channel that three of the miners were in serious condition and were awaiting hospitalisation, and added that two of them had suffered bone fractures.
Osadczuk said no more miners were trapped underground and that the rescue operation in the mine was over. Referring to her earlier report about four injured miners, she explained that three more had reported to medics in the course of the rescue operation.
Commenting on the causes of the tremor, Osadczuk said it was natural and caused by breaking and sliding rocks. (PAP)
