Poland's unemployment flat m/m at 6.1 pct in February - minister

February's unemployment rate remained unchanged from the previous month at 6.1 percent, Family and Labour Minister Elżbieta Rafalska told a press conference on Wednesday.

Analysts polled by PAP also expected the country's unemployment to remain unchanged from January.

"The level is 0.7 percentage point lower than last year," Minister Rafalska said of February's unemployment.

The number of unemployed reached 1,018,000 in the second month of the year, Rafalska added.

According to Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) the number of unemployed registered at Labour Offices in January amounted to 1,023,100.

GUS will present its February unemployment calculations on March 25. (PAP)
