EU membership beneficial to Poland - ruling party leader

Belonging to the European Union is a requirement of Polish patriotism, it is beneficial to Poland - we have greater security and a better status, ruling Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński said at a party convention in Poznań, western Poland, on Saturday.

At the same time, the PiS chairman said that this patriotism and EU affiliation does not necessarily mean that we agree to everything. "Membership does not put an end to politics, this constant game of security, status and position," he stressed.

As he pointed out, when it comes to security, status and position, equality is needed. "We must strive for it," Kaczyński stressed. (PAP)
