Analysts polled by PAP also expected the country's unemployment to go down to 5.4 percent in April.
The number of unemployed stood at 907,100 by the end of May, down by 31,200 (3.3 percent) from April and by over 95,000 (9.5 percent) from the same month of 2018.
"The drop in the unemployment rate resulted from a decrease in the new unemployed registrations as well as new jobs, which is connected to an acceleration in seasonal work in the construction, agriculture, gardening and forestry sectors in view of good atmospheric conditions," Minister Borys-Szopa said.
Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) will publish May's unemployment data on June 26.(PAP)
