Multinational IT outsourcing corporation Luxoft plans to hire several hundred new employees in Poland this year.

The company wants to increase employment in its Polish offices by 25 percent, and it also plans to expand to a new city, according to Wojciech Mach, managing director of Luxoft Poland and Luxoft Central Europe. At the moment, Luxoft has offices in Krakow in the south of the country, Wroclaw in the southwest, and in the northern city of Gdansk.

Last year Luxoft increased employment in its Polish offices threefold to 2,000 and plans to take on more staff.

Poland plays a special role in Luxoft’s global business network, according to Mach. "This is where we can both hire top-calibre IT specialists and find new business partners," he said.

Luxoft’s Polish offices handle orders from clients in sectors such as investment banking, new technology, tourism and the automotive industry, said Mach.

Luxoft is a leading global provider of software development and IT services. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), it has 11,000 employees in 17 countries, chiefly in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The company began operating in Poland in 2010. (PAP)
