Poland's LOT national airline will resume some domestic routes from June 1, and the carrier's new flight schedule will be announced in early June, LOT's deputy CEO, Michal Fijol, told PAP on Sunday.
As of Monday, passengers will be able to fly from Warsaw to Gdansk (three times daily), Krakow, Poznan, Rzeszow, Szczecin, Wroclaw and Zielona Gora (twice daily), and from Krakow to Gdansk (once daily).
Fijol also said that LOT wants to launch the new timetable about two weeks prior to the time of travel. "It should be expected that at the beginning of June we will announce where we will be flying after June 15," he said.
According to him, the company has implemented security procedures in accordance with national and European guidelines.
"We encourage our passengers to check-in online before arriving at the airport. Everywhere they will be required to maintain their spatial distance, as well as wear face masks from the entrance to the terminal, and then throughout the entire journey on board," he said. During the cruise the LOT crew will be equipped with masks and gloves and passengers will be allowed to occupy every second seat, he added.
All LOT aircraft are equipped with HEPA filters, "a high-quality filter that removes bacteria and viruses from the air," Fijol also said.
All LOT flights were suspended on March 10 owing to the coronavirus epidemic. On May 19, the carrier extended its suspension of international passenger flights until June 14. (PAP)
