Poland's National Poultry Council has opened its first mission in China. The Shanghai-based mission will strive to raise poultry sales to the Chinese market, the Development Ministry reported on Monday.

Deputy Development Minister Radoslaw Domagalski was quoted as saying that the Shanghai mission was part of a Polish-Chinese cooperation policy launched in effect of Chinese President Xi Jinping's Poland visit last June. He added that the Polish side hoped to secure more poultry orders from China.

Poland is currently the only European poultry supplier to China, last year's sales topping PLN 105 million. According to National Poultry Council general director Lukasz Dominiak, the Shanghai mission may help raise sales to PLN 2 billion. (PAP)
