Poland among world’s hardest-working nations - OECD

Poland is among the world's hardest-working nations, according to a report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The average Pole spent 1,963 hours working last year, the most in six years, the report shows.

To compare, in 2013 Poles spent 1,918 hours working on average. In 2005 the figure was 1,994 hours.

The report ranks Poland in seventh place among 38 countries in terms of the number of hours worked last year, ahead of the Czech Republic (1,779 hours), Slovakia (1,754), the Netherlands (1,419), Norway (1,424), and France (1,482).

Mexico is the world’s hardest-working nation, according to the OECD, with 2,246 hours worked last year. South Korea, Chile, Russia, Greece and Costa Rica are also ranked ahead of Poland. (PAP)
