A truck driver killed Tuesday on a parking lot in Fermoy by Cork in Ireland was a Slovak and not, as earlier believed, a Polish citizen, sources in the Irish police told PAP Thursday.

According to police the victim's companion, who was hospitalised after the incident, has turned out to be Polish.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when two men armed with a crowbar and a baseball bat attacked the Slovak driver and his Polish companion.

According to local media both of the attackers were Polish. (PAP)
