Orlen, the largest energy and fuel company in Poland, has announced that it is conducting numerous audits into its functioning under the previous management and has already filed eight notices with the prosecutor’s office.

Orlen stated on Tuesday that, with the support of external auditing and legal firms, it was "conducting a comprehensive review of its operations from January 2016 to February 2024."

The company reported that more than 50 inspections and audits have already been completed, with a comparable number currently in progress.

Moreover, the company mentioned that "legal proceedings... have also been initiated by the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies," adding that among the 28 key investigations, 12 pertain to Orlen itself, while 16 involve other entities within the Orlen Group.

"The company has submitted a total of eight notifications to the prosecutor's office and is in the process of preparing additional ones," as stated by Orlen. "Two of these notifications pertain to the conduct of the former management of Orlen, which resulted in a loss exceeding PLN 5 billion (EUR 1.16 bln) for the company."

The evaluations and assessments encompass the organisation's investment activities, selections of suppliers, as well as its sponsorship and marketing efforts. (PAP)
