Polish arms manufacturer Grupa WB has signed a contract with the Korean company Hanwha Aerospace for the establishment of a joint venture to produce rocket missiles in Poland, the defence minister has reported.

The contract was signed during KADEX, the South Korean arms trade show, by Poland's Deputy Defence Minister Pawel Bejda and Cho Hyun-ki on behalf the Korean DAPA arms agency.

"During the implementation of the contract, it is planned to build a factory whose target ammunition production capacity will reach several thousand CGR-080 missiles per year," the Ministry of National Defense stated in a press release on Wednesday.

The missiles are one of the basic types of ammunition used by Poland's HOMAR-K rocket launchers, which are based on the Korean K239 Chunmoo system produced by Hanwha. (PAP)
