A number of foreign ministers from EU member states will meet in Poland's capital city on Tuesday to discuss further aid for Ukraine, PAP has learnt from Polish foreign ministry.

Expected at the meeting are the foreign ministers of Poland, Germany and France, Radoslaw Sikorski, Annalena Baerbock and Jean-Noel Barrot. They will likely be joined by their counterparts Antonio Tajani of Italy and Andrij Sybiha of Ukraine.

According to Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) the main topics of the planned meeting are to include the international situation in the changed political reality after the elections in the US, the prospect of further support for Ukraine and strengthening NATO's eastern flank. Issues "concerning cooperation between the countries that will be present there" are also on the agenda.

Earlier, on November 2, the foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle - Poland, Germany and France - talked by phone about European security policy, including the future of transatlantic relations with the United States.

The Tuesday talks between the ministers will take place at a time when the new administration of the US president-elect, Donald Trump, is taking shape. During the election campaign, he signalled the possibility of changes in the United States' current policy towards Ukraine and support for that country. (PAP)
