The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of Iran’s attack on Israel which occurred on Tuesday, aligning itself fully with the statement made by EU High Representative Josep Borrell.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry stated that Poland, in solidarity with the European Union, remains deeply committed to reducing tensions and promoting de-escalation in the region.

"Poland fully supports the statement by EU High Representative Josep Borrell regarding yesterday's attack on Israel by Iran," the ministry wrote. "This attack further exacerbates the already tense situation in the Middle East."

The Polish government has called on all parties involved to exercise "maximum restraint," warning that the risk of a regional conflict is growing increasingly real.

The international community, including the US and NATO, has overwhelmingly condemned Iran's actions. Borrell had condemned the attack on behalf of the EU, warning that the dangerous cycle of raids and retaliations could spiral out of control. He urged an immediate ceasefire across the region.

on Tuesday evening, Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, claiming the strikes were in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Iranian general Abbas Nilforoushan. The Israeli military reported intercepting a "large portion" of the 180 rockets fired. (PAP)
