Polish prime minister has announced assistance for Lviv after a deadly Russian attack struck the heart of the historic city on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the Russian deadly attack on Lviv via the X platform and said that Poland is ready to assist in the reconstruction of the city.

"Lviv needs help! Russians targeted the city's centre. Many historical townhouses have been damaged. Poland is ready to help," Tusk wrote.

Wednesday's missile attack came as one of the deadliest for Lviv since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, killing seven people, including three children, and injuring dozens more. According to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, the blast damaged over fifty houses, two medical facilities and two schools. The overnight strike adds to the series of explosions heard in other Ukrainian cities, including Rivne, Lutsk, Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih. The latter reported five people wounded. Wednesday's onslaught came the day after the country witnessed the deadliest single attack of this year. On Tuesday, a Russian missile killed fifty-one people in Poltava.(PAP)
