The Polish defence minister and the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) have presented a new catalogue of Polish defence equipment.

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the defence minister, and Jacek Siewiera, the BBN head, on Tuesday attended the opening of the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition in the southeastern city of Kielce.

The 200-page document is packed with information about the full range of the best Polish-made weapons.

The catalogue's main goal is to bolster Polish foreign military sales, Kosiniak-Kamysz said, adding that the move serves as a demonstration of support for Polish defence manufacturers.

Meanwhile, Siewiera saw the catalogue's preparation as an example of thinking about the country's security in terms of providing the army with everything it needs. "Poland has hosted plenty of diplomatic visits... where our guests present their military products, backed by their national flag, while Poland falls short of actively promoting its weapons," Siewiera added.

He argued against allowing a significant portion of the country's GDP to be controlled by foreign capital. Instead, he advocated for supporting "Polish companies on Polish soil with Polish workers and entrepreneurs."

This year, Poland has become NATO's top military spender, allocating 4.1 percent of its GDP to defence. Last week, the country's coalition leaders agreed to raise this figure to 4.7 percent in 2025. (PAP)
